ABOUT JULIE
About a decade ago I was in crisis. I was going through a divorce, my daughter was going off to college, and I realized my life lacked passion and purpose. The one thing I looked forward to during that time was going to yoga classes.
Soon after, I tacked a weekend in Bali onto a work trip. I was so deeply impacted by that trip. On the long plane ride home all I could think about was that I needed to deepen my yoga practice.
As my practice deepened, my life started to transform. I connected with my soul and I found my purpose. I started to say yes to the things that interested me which has led me on an adventure of expansion into the areas that my soul wants to have emphasis.
I’d love to develop a personal practice for you and help you meet your goals.
BIO
Julie is a registered yoga teacher with more than 500 hours of training (RYT-500), hundreds of hours of teaching experience, and is a Yoga Therapist in training with the Yoga Well Institute under the direction of Chase Bossart and Amanda Green. She has decades of experience practicing and studying yoga.
She is a student in the Viniyoga lineage passed from T. Krishnamacharya to his son T.K.V. Desikachar. T. Krishnamacharya is widely considered to be the father of modern yoga, and his son taught and practiced Yoga Therapy. The teachings in the Viniyoga tradition have been passed down from teacher to student for thousands of years.
Julie’s approach is holistic and she works with each client to create a personalized yoga practice that addresses their specific needs and goals. The practices emphasize movement with breath and mindfulness to help clients develop greater self-awareness and improve their overall sense of well-being.
Viniyoga encourages each student to work under the guidance of a senior practitioner. Julie’s personal teacher and mentor is Briana Soladay (of True Nature), who directs Julie’s practice and provides a shining example of living a life of yoga.
